Press Release – Fidelio responds to Davies Report with a Seat at the Table Programme

London – 29th October 2015 – The final Davies Report published today recommends a voluntary target of 33% women on FTSE 350 Boards by 2020 with a particular focus on increasing the executive layer. Fidelio is delighted to respond with a Programme for Senior Female Executives – “A Seat at the Table”. This distinctive and acclaimed Programme is both strengthening the layer of senior female executives, as well as developing tomorrow’s female CEOs and Chairmen.

Fidelio’s inaugural programme in September 2015 attracted talented female leaders from a range of sectors and geographies. It was described as offering “…a heady combination of new friends and contacts, immediately actionable insights and rich seams of thought…” and received extremely positive feedback. With such endorsements, Fidelio is now hosting the second “A Seat at the Table” programme on 15-16th March 2016 at the historic Leeds Castle, Kent.

Fidelio, as a Board Development and Executive Search consultancy, has very clear insight into who succeeds to the top table and who succeeds at the top table. Fidelio’s Search and Development expertise combined with extensive research has highlighted five attributes of leadership which are critical to assuming “A Seat at the Table”:

1. Understanding the complexity of shareholder and stakeholder expectations for the leadership team
2. A firm grasp of governance, including formal and informal power structures
3. Presence and authority; personal impact; the ability to influence
4. Reinforcing networks; networks of support and networks of reciprocity
5. Resilience under extreme pressure

The Programme is different. It explores these five interlinked attributes of leadership which are critical to becoming an effective member of the most senior leadership team. Effectiveness at the Board/Executive Committee table is the focal point of the two day programme and participants will be given a practical tool box to help them succeed, including:

  • a framework for understanding leadership structures and styles;
  • a mirror for personal presence including within a group dynamic; and
  • a road map of critical networks and milestones in order to achieve their professional and personal objectives.

Gillian Karran- Cumberlege, co-founder of Fidelio says, “In addition to the rich experience of the Fidelio team and external speakers, participants benefit from the opportunity to develop a network with this peer group of talented female executives from a range of sectors and geographies. We are looking at tomorrow’s female CEOs and Chairmen.”
