Fidelio Partners and Grace Belgravia present an evening with Wasfia Nazreen, Founder, Bangladesh on Seven Summits, 17th February 2014

Wasfia Nazreen, the youngest and first “one-woman team” from Bangladesh to make it to the top of Everest, spoke about her inspirational journey to conquer the highest mountain on each of the world’s seven continents.

Fidelio Partners, the Board Development and Executive Search consultancy, focuses on building leadership teams that exceed the expectations of their stakeholders. A shining example of leadership against a complex backdrop is Wasfia Nazreen. On her homeland’s 40th anniversary, Wasfia determined to climb the highest mountain on every continent in celebration of women’s progress in Bangladesh and to highlight positive stories and the strengths of Bangladesh as it goes through a period of unprecedented political, economic and environmental chaos.

In a little more than a year, and operating on a shoestring budget, she raised her national flag on the highest mountains of five of those seven continents and her journey to climb the last two continued. She was the first and only Bangladeshi to have conquered Aconcagua, the world’s tallest mountain outside of the Himalayan range, the first Bangladeshi to stand atop Mount Elbrus in Europe and first Bangladeshi woman to stand atop Mount Vinson, Antarctica.

A dedicated social worker, in the process of the climbs, Wasfia and friends formed the Bangladesh on Seven Summits Foundation to work with women with limited opportunities. She has  about to publish her first book,“Bangladesh on Seven Summits”. Wasfia’s presentation was followed by an open discussion. After the event, there were further opportunities to network and to view Grace Belgravia, London’s only exclusive health, well being and lifestyle club for women.
