Momentum towards Board and Executive diversity is gathering pace in 2018. The UK is no exception. Fidelio remains a committed key player, enhancing Board and executive diversity through Search and “A Seat at the Table”.
In the UK, government and regulators are stepping up pressure on corporates to achieve increased diversity:
- The Financial Reporting Council (FRC)’s Corporate Governance Consultation Paper recommends Nomination Committees should take an active role in setting and meeting diversity objectives and strategies for the company as a whole, including the development of senior executives.
- Within Parliament, the Women and Work All-Party Parliamentary Group recently released its recommendations for delivering gender balance in business, linking diversity and industrial strategy
- Pressure increases as the 4th April deadline approaches for organisations with more than 250 employees to report their gender pay gap. Less than 6% of organisations have reported to date, and these have typically indicated a significant structural imbalance
Against this backdrop, Fidelio has recently been accredited by the Hampton-Alexander Review for our contribution to gender balance. The fifth iteration of our “A Seat at the Table” Programme for senior female Executives and Directors is timely. The March Programme will be attended internationally by senior women from leading corporates and financial services companies, including female CEOs.
The Programme focuses on three critical takeaways for Board readiness to put women in the driving seat of their own Board careers, be it as an Executive or Non-Executive Director:
- Direct learning from senior, experienced and respected Chairs, and what they expect from their Boards
- How Boards engage with, understand, and meet the expectations of, stakeholders and shareholders
